Love or Something Ignites in My Veins

Hey.
Warning. This blog was composed over several days.

1. I'm back at school.  Classes have started. I might be anti-social due to some of them.  So if I see you and I have a book in my face, please do not think I'm rude.  I would much rather carry on a conversation with you than read my book unfortunately, that's the way life goes.

2. I just made some super cool things on my wall out of pictures.  When I say super cool, I mean I made a cross and the word LOVE out of pictures.  Nothing too creative.  Lacking in the visual art department.

3. Someone on my hall just shouted "I love icarly"

4. Christmas Break was really good.  Spent a lot of time with family and friends and enjoyed catching up with them.  Also went to Passion which was incredible.  God was glorified!

5. I'm so glad that I have the first season of GLEE on DVD.

6. I'm pretty sure I've moved to Antarctica.  Today, it felt sunny and warm compared to every other day and the temperature was a grand 50 degrees in the middle of the afternoon.  That's slightly ridiculous.

7. I started my gospel piece this week in voice.  It is entitled "Joy." Oh yes.

8.  I was replacing some pictures in my frames the other day and my command strip hook KILLED my finger. For real.

9. Man, keep Haiti in your prayers.  They are truly suffering right now.  It's heartbreaking.

10. I want to bake Snickerdoodle cookies and there is no oven.  Boo dorm life.

11.  Christy Nockels has some of the most incredible voices. Period.

12. I'm stoked for small group to start back.  I started preparing this morning for it.  Studied only the first five verses of Philippians and it rocked my world.  Once I slowed down and started taking the verses apart, I discovered they contained so much information and so many promises that so often we just breeze over when we read, especially the first chapter where Paul is basically addressing and greeting the church.  It's going to be crazy awesome and I can't wait.

13. I randomly bought some orange juice today.  I like orange juice but I don't drink it regularly so why I bought some.... I don't know.

14. Suzi did awesome at her recital tonight!  And Mrs. Pinson had an awesome moment!

15. JC's closes at 3 on Friday's. Who knew?

16. Because of this, we settled for Matty's.  Dang. :)

17. Me or my roommate still haven't put our sheets on our beds.  Hello futon.  I'm sorry Mom.  I'm fixing that tonight.

18. I'm thankful Needtobreathe is coming to Charlotte due to the Gala conflict with the Clemson date.

19. I honestly might be addicted to Diet Coke, Coke Zero, and Coffee.  For real.

20. Soooo I read "The Last Song" over Christmas Break.... I cried..... a lot.

21. Bethany, Morgan, Ellie, and Rachel were sitting on the futon when I walked in my room tonight!

22. Hey I just realized that we have smoke detectors in our rooms.  Hahaha. I thought we only had fire alarms.  Good thing to know.

23. Today is Granddaddy's Birthday!  YAY!

24.  I have reading due Tuesday in a book that the bookstore doesn't have in yet.... not sure how to make that one happen.

25. It's bedtime.

xoxo

Out With the Old, In With the New!

Well, here we are, 2010.  A new year, a new time, a new beginning.  I have so many things to be thankful for so here we go.... A year in review!

1.  January- Rent. With Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal.  I do not know what this means to some, but to many musical theatre fans, this was honest and true amazement.  I had the opportunity to see this not once, but twice!  It was so awesome to see these two fellows in their original roles over ten years later, especially knowing their passion and love for the show, it's message, and Jonathan Larson.  No Day but Today!

2- February- Rehearsals for Waiting for Lefty really kicked off.  I heart that cast.  I grew close to many of the cast members and made some amazing friends along the way.  It was so awesome to see them in December perform in Our Town!  Kudos!  Other than that, nothing massive really happened in Feb.

3- March- Waiting for Lefty was performed which means many days and nights at rehearsals.  March as well was pretty boring while trying to balance school and rehearsals.  And when I say life was boring, I mean nothing major happened.  My life is absolutely never boring.

4- April- Easter!  Shazam!  Christ the Lord is Risen Today!  I love Easter!  It's such a time of reflection but also a time for us as Christians to be joyful about our risen Savior!  Wooot!  April also contained another meeting of Legally Blonde the Musical and Katie Anne Roberts.  Which means I am now so much better than before! :)

5.  May- Sweet Summertime!  It was a time of exams. blah. But then a time of preparation!  A busy summer was in my future so it kicked off with a ton of prep for VBS and Baltimore!  I love preparation time because you get to spend time with some awesome, Godly individuals.

6.  June- VBS!  On the Boomerang Express!  It all come back to Jesus!  Wooooo!  That was so much fun!  I love leading VBS music with Brittany!  That is going to be one thing I miss tremendously this coming summer!  In June, I also went on a mission trip to Baltimore which was SO AWESOME!  We worked with Graceway church and helped with VBS, Sports Camp, and we worked on Garden Harvest Farm.  I was so blessed to meet so many incredible, Godly people and minister to children!  God worked in some awesome ways that week and really expanded my level of comfort.  Little did I know, that level of comfort was fixing to get really expanded in....

7. July!  First I went to Isle of Palms with SA for a few days, then it was off to Jamaica for an awesome week of ministry!  I will honestly say I never been hotter in my entire life and I probably never will be again but I know that it was worth every moment of it.  We conducted VBS, Conferences, Worship, and worked on a house.  My favorite part was Jamaican worship.  They have such a real and genuine way of worship that opened my eyes to what worship really means.  It was such a beautiful thing.  The people of Jamaica were awesome too!  I met people there that I will remember for the rest of my life.  I took so much away from that experience.  (Micah 6:8)

8. August- After a relaxing vacay with my family, it was time for me to move to Anderson.  I was nervous but I couldn't have been more excited and sad at the same time.  I was really dreading leaving my family and my very close friends but I was so ready to see what God had in store for me in the months and years ahead.  I get to room with my best friend on the planet.  I have an awesome hall.  I have an awesome major. And I have made incredible friends.

9.  September- This was full of exciting events!  Carolina football mainly.  In September, I also learned how to swing dance and got my first taste of bridge jumping.  That, I can honestly say was a once in a lifetime experience.  I don't think I will be returning to the bridge to jump but I am so glad I braved it the first time!

10. October- This consisted of a roller coaster month but all in all it was fantastic!  Family weekend was upon us!  I love seeing my family!  Then there was the Masquerade Ball.  Party!  Oh and I saw my first four hour opera.... Woo Hoo!

11. November- This was fun! Thanksgiving Break was the best!  It started with the Miley Cyrus concert.  Can you say Party in the USA?  Then it rolled on to Thanksgiving day. Um. Yum.  Then Black Friday with my suga lip shoppers!  We need t-shirts for next year haha!  Then USC/Clemson game.  I was there. Praise Jesus.  It was nice to see a domination.  I don't want to hear a single excuse from any Tiger. That's all I have to say about that.  Then the Trans-Siberian Orchestra! Awesome!  Thanks Brandon!

12. December- Christmas First Night.  Excitement. Then my birthday!  I am two decades old. Yikes.  Then finished up this awesome semester with exams.  Christmas Break has been fantastic to catch up with old friends and hang out with new ones as well!   Family time has been amazing!  Oh yeah, I started dating this awesome guy, Zach.  He's pretty fantastic!

So as I sit at Jeanette's house finishing this, we're getting ready heading to Passion 2010 in the morning.  I look forward to the coming days ahead to learn, to reflect, to worship.  It's going to be awesome.  My prayer is that my life glorifies Christ in this coming year.  That's my new years resolution.  It's more important than any diet I can go on.

until next time...
